Website stuff August 15, 2008
Posted by Staci in : Site Updates , add a commentOk some of you might have had access to an old forum I had put on here a few years ago. The point behind it was to keep in touch with co-workers once we started to move departments and jobs. We used it to plan our girls nights. That forum has now been removed. We all stopped using it, so I decided to just delete it. I can always re-add it if a need comes up.
I also took down the photo site I had up here for awhile. I had installed it to replace the Flickr album but it took up too much space so I never used it for anything. I think I will start using Flickr or another similar service in the future. When I do I will add a link to the photo album on this site.
I also re-enabled the site to allow new users to register themselves. I am still getting the same amount of spam that I was before so in order to make it easier for anyone who wants to comment I will just let anyone one register again. You will still need to be logged in to post.
Work Stuff August 15, 2008
Posted by Staci in : Work Stuff , add a commentSo a few weeks ago I applied for 2 coaching jobs at work. On that would be a position here in Arizona, and one that would take me to India. I know I am qualified to do either job considering I am acting as a coach already in my current role of “Subject Matter Expert” but I interviewed horribly. I was nervous and totally forgot what I should be saying to tell the right STAR stories and nail down the job. So I didn’t get either one. Now the people who did get the two jobs are qualified ( I still think I was the best one though) so I am not angry or upset that I didn’t get the job. I figure that I didn’t get it for a reason and that something better will come along.
Another RCPM Concert. August 15, 2008
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings , add a commentSo on 08/09 I went to see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers again. I think this is either the 4th or 5th time I have seen them. Once again a great show. Full of energy. However this marks the first time we have not stayed until the end. I won’t post the details of our leaving early here, but I will say what I saw of the concert was great and overall I had a really fun time out with my friends. I needed the escape and am really glad we managed to go.
A new tattoo. August 15, 2008
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings , add a commentSo on 08/08/08 I went and got my 5th tattoo. It is a lotus flower on my right ankle. I think it looks really nice. I went with Brittany from work so she could watch me get a new one and then she got her first. I know I am such a bad influence.
While there Frankie from The 30’s at KR stopped in. He only lives about 15 minutes from me, yet it has taken over a year for us to meet in person. He had some work done himself at that tattoo parlor the week before so he decided to stop in again to see me in person. It was good to finally meet him. We had a nice conversation and discussed doing a charity walk later on this year. I will post a picture of my new tattoo as soon as I can get a decent one taken with my digital camera. The one I took with my cell phone is really grainy and doesn’t show how bright the colors are.
Only 2 weeks since my last update June 1, 2008
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, Work Stuff , add a commentOk so my plan of at least once a week was a bit delayed.
Memorial day weekend was pretty good. I went to a local Geocaching event. It was my first time attending one and I was a bit nervous but the people were really nice and welcoming. I had a nice lunch, “discovered” some interesting geocoins and maybe made a new friend or two.
Work is going ok for me. I still like working in fraud, and last week they gave me the task of quality checking some of the trainees work. I had done it in the past when I was coaching and they training department was a bit behind so they asked me to do it again.
I had a good 2 weeks on the diet. I stayed on plan with the eating, but my running was not up to par. I missed a few runs due to work/schedule issues, but still all and all a good week. I weigh in again tomorrow so we shall see if I managed to drop any of the pounds.
My mom lost her job again so until she finds another one our funds will be tight. No more extra purchases for me. I might have to cancel the Weight Watchers monthly fee and just go it alone using software on my palm pilot until we have the funds to rejoin. My payment is not due until the middle of June so I have some time to decide.
Another overdue update May 18, 2008
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, Site Updates , add a commentSo it has been awhile again. I think I need to put a reminder on my Treo Calendar that I need to do at least on update a week.
Most of you might know that I didn’t go to Eugene after all. Financially it was not possible, so I had to scrap the plan. I am disappointed that I missed out on a trip that I had been planning on, but sometimes that is what you have to do when your family needs your financial support.
I am back on Weight Watchers and I hope to drop 24 pounds. I can’t believe I let myself gain so much back after it took me so long to loose the first time. I know the first 10 pounds sort of crept up on me but the last 14 are all my fault. So I rejoined last week and I hope to see some results soon.
Oh and I disabled the function that would allow people to register themselves to post on my blog. I was getting tons of fake registrations and at least 10 spam posts a day. If you would like to register just send me an email with what you would like your user name to be and I will create an account for you. I couldn’t think of any other way to cut down on all the spam post.
An overdue update. March 3, 2008
Posted by Staci in : General Ramblings, Running , add a commentA lot has happened since I last posted.
Yes I am still running, but I am considering changed from the half marathon planned in May to the 5k instead. I will still be traveling to Eugene to do it, but I think I will have more fun at the shorter distance. I am really really slow after all so it was going to take almost 4 hours to do the half. This way I can run the 5k (it will take about 50 minutes for me) and still be in a great mood for socializing with the KR crowd that will be there.
My sister had her baby. My niece Chloe Monroe was born on Feb 15th at 131 am. She is adorable. She has my dad’s chin, her dad’s nose, and blue eyes.
Last week my car was vandalized. I went to Wal-Mart and some kid asked me for some cash for gas. I said no and went in to the store. When I came out there was a rock sitting on my sunroof. The glass was shattered. It was safety glass so at least it did not go everywhere, but it needed to be replaced. My insurance is covering it because I have full glass so that is good, but it won’t be fixed for a few days so I am with out a car. *sigh*
I sort of took up a new hobby. I have a gps because of my running so I decided to try geocaching. You can learn more about it at www.geocaching.com. It is basically a grown up treasure hunt using GPS for the map. I have only found a few but I have had fun doing it. I might go out with a member of KR while in Eugene to search for a few there since I will be there for 4 days. At this point since I am going out alone, I am only going during the day and I won’t do any that are long hikes away from my car just for safety reason. So that means visits to local parks and greenbelts before work on the days I don’t run or on the weekends.

My pacing needs work. January 15, 2008
Posted by Staci in : Running , 1 comment so farSo to prepare to run Eugene I need to work on my pacing outside. To help with that I decided to do at least one run a week around my neighborhood. Today was day 1 of that endevor. I only managed a mile, but it was a fast (for me anyway) mile. 14:58 minutes. That is more then a minute faster then normal. I know if I had been running at my normal pace I would have hit my planned 3 miles without a problem. I felt pretty good to be running outside for a change. I am going to try to do a nice slow 2 miles after work tonight to get in my planned distance so I stay on track. I have 4 miles planned for Thursday and 6 miles planned for Saturday. I have yet to actually hit 6 miles, but I am getting closer each week.
Small Update to the site. January 14, 2008
Posted by Staci in : Running, Site Updates , add a commentI added a bunch of links to my site tonight. They are blogs that belong to a group called the 30’s that post on www.kickrunners.com. I consider them my online running club and I know with out their support I would not be where I am right now.
